Clients often asked how me what made me want to do boudoir photography.

I used to work in the government and someone approached me and showed me a boudoir album she had done at another studio. She made a comment about the price so I asked why she had not given me the opportunity. Her reply was one day you will charge this price. She was right.

Seeing those photos made me want to pursue boudoir for many reasons. I’m a girly girl. I love shoes, clothes, purses, jewelry, lace, silk, anything feminine.

Boudoir photography is art created with curves.

I grew up with a mom that controlled everything I ate. The freezer was locked as if I was going to cook myself a steak. She had a cold room and that was locked too. We were not allowed to eat in between the meals either. I thought you had to be a certain size to be successful until I saw woman after woman in my studio and realized we all have insecurities no matter what shape or size we are.

Boudoir gives me the opportunity to empower woman who look at themselves in the mirror and don’t feel worthy.

Yes I am not the cheapest boudoir photographer in Ottawa but all the woman who come at my studio receives an amazing experience which helps them reconnect with their inner goddess.

To some people, it may only seem like a photo but to my clients it is proof that their years of insecurities about how they look were false and that they are beautiful. Boudoir is fun, it is liberating and it is a wonderful feeling to see a shy, self-conscious woman come out of her shell and own it.
