Corsets are meant to shrink your waist and accentuate your curves. They usually tie at the back to help emphasize your shape. They are hard to put on, but don’t worry I there to help you!!!
A bustier is similar to a corset in coverage but it has cups to accentuate and lift the breast. They don’t normally shrink the waist like corsets do as their purpose is focus on the breast. If you want a lift without showing too much skin, bustiers are for you!
A teddy is a garment that covers the torso and crotch in one garment. It is similar to a one-piece swimsuit or bodysuit but is more sheer or lacy and sexier.
A body suit is a one piece stretch garment for women. They are more considered clothing, however they are great for boudoir photography too! Add leg warmers and you have the Flash Dance movie theme. If you are concern about your arms, look for long sleeved body suits.
A babydoll is a short, sleeveless, loose-fitting nightgown. It can sometimes have cups called a bralette to accentuate the cleavage with an attached loose-fitting skirt falling usually between the upper thigh and the belly button.
Garter Belts, Garters & Thigh Highs
A garter belt is a belt worn around the waist or hips with attached garters or fasteners to hold up high thigh stockings. The stockings are called thigh high because they pull up to the thigh. Garters can also be built into lingerie so a belt isn’t needed.
There are two different types of thigh high stockings.
Some have a rubber material on the inside to help them stay up. If the stockings have the rubber inside they are meant to be worn without the garter because the rubber allows them to stay up on their own and they are very hard to attach to the garter because of the thickness of them.
Stockings without the rubber are much more desirable for garters.
Shape wear is a type of tight-fitting underwear intended to control and shape the figure. There mostly worn underneath a dress to avoid muffin tops or under panty lines. There are many beautiful options out there that can be used in a boudoir session.
Slips are meant to be worn under a dress to avoid bra and under panty lines. They have a looser fitting than the shapewear and some of them have built in cups for support.
Clothing is a fantastic option for boudoir! Think about a leather jacket, a little black dress, a sequin skirt, ripped jeans and a sexy bra; tank top and underwear, or off the shoulder sweaters. Clothing can be just as sexy than lingerie.
Bra and panty set
Bra and panty sets are a great option. Pair it with high thigh stockings and a high heels.
Try to have at least one pair of black and one skin colored heel with you. Avoid ankle straps as they might shrink your angle. Keep in mind, the higher the heel – the better it is as they will make your legs look longer.
Bring all the jewelry you can as it can add elegant detail to your boudoir photos.
Props are welcomed to show off your interests and personality. Just be careful that it doesn’t overwhelmed the photos.
If you are concern about showing your stomach then you might want to opt for the shapewear, slips, bustiers and corsets. An elegant lace robe over a bra and underwear is a great choice as well. So is a plain white tank top and lacy undies.
If you have some stretch marks or scars select opaque materials, but choose a style that will still show off your shape – like a body suit or a slip. Try not to cover yourself in a baby doll as it might make you look heavier.
The point of a boudoir session is to show your gorgeous shape no matter what you wear or how covered you are. Before your session hang up anything that might wrinkle.
