Most people have heard crazy misconceptions about boudoir myths photography. Are you one of those?
Many woman think they can’t do boudoir because they are afraid of being naked therefore it is stopping them from booking a boudoir session.
First things first, you do not have to be naked for a boudoir session. Not even close! If that’s what you want and you are comfortable with it, then do it.
There are several options when it comes to lingerie. The important thing is that you should wear something you are comfortable in however boudoir is also about getting out of your comfort zone so chose also chose something daring.
“I need a perfect body for a boudoir shoot.” No you don’t. There isn’t a human being that is happy with every part of their body. It’s human nature. My job is to show you how beautiful you are, inside and out. We are doing so much more than taking photos. You will have a discrete space to feel comfortable in your own skin, feel empowering and do something new and exciting.
“I’m sure I will blow a ton of money on lingerie.” It’s ok to buy lingerie if you want to. Again, this is your choice. It’s also ok not to spend money on lingerie you may never wear again. Feel free to wear your husband’s hockey jersey, underwear, and high heels. Did you know Chantal Benoit Photography has a lingerie closet you can borrow all kinds of fun pieces?
“These pictures have to be for my significant other.” Not necessarily. They are just as much for you as they are for them. It’s a beautiful gesture to give these photos to your spouse, fiancé, or partner. They make an excellent gift for any occasion. You don’t need any specific reason to take them for yourself either. Go ahead and treat yourself! This is nourishing for your mind, body and soul.
