Because a boudoir photo shoot will leave you with an album of images to look back on for years to come, carefully selecting the most flattering attires is one of the most important steps you can make in preparing for the occasion. There are a couple of factors you will want to consider when choosing your outfits: your personal style and your body type.
As you are preparing for your photo shoot, you will most likely feel confident in lingerie or outfit choices that reflect your unique personal style. This is not to say that you can’t venture out and play with different looks, but the idea here is to avoid choosing outfits that are different to the way you would normally express yourself, a very conservative female is unlikely to be confident in front of the camera while dressed in Gothic lingerie and black leather boots.
Be playful and have fun dressing up, but do think about your comfort level and most of all, be true to you! Perhaps the most important factor to consider when choosing your outfits is your body type. There are many ways to showcase your “assets” and hide perceived “flaws.”
For the thin woman there are several ways to enhance, or create the illusion of a more curvaceous physique by wearing a padded push up bra with embellishments and extra detailing which will amplify the cleavage. Panties with ruffles on the butt are another “cheeky” and sexy way to play up your curves.
For more voluptuous women, corsets are amazing at slimming the waist and showing off a sculpted hourglass figure. Also for busty women, wearing a glamorous, supportive bra can go a long way to boost confidence during a shoot.
For plus size women, baby doll teddies, or camisoles with an empire waist, are great choices as they draw the eyes to the smallest part of the torso, elongating the body and enhancing your shape. Black, while universally flattering on every skin tone, is also a great shade for anyone wanting to appear thinner.
A great pair of high heel shoes will elongate the legs, give the appearance of increased muscle tone and cause the breasts and butt to thrust out slightly, so don’t forget this important element of your wardrobe for your shoot! Neutral color of shoes will also make the legs appear longer.
No matter what your size or style, there are ensembles out there to make you look your personal best as you capture it on camera!
The holidays are just around the corner. Why not take this opportunity to do a something for you and your significant other.
